Boat "Parade" and First Milkshake

Shamian Island is right on the Pearl River.  Guangzhou was also the home of the Asian Para Games, which had their closing ceremony last night.  We were told that there would be a parade of lit up boats on the river as part of the ceremony.  So, we headed to Lucy's, an American-style diner, and got milkshakes, and walked down to the river to watch.  Well, there were several boats, and they had a lot of lights, and there was music playing, but none of the boats ever went anywhere.  Maybe the definition of "parade" is different in China?
Either way, we had a nice evening with our new friends Paul and Robin, and their little girl Lily (Susie from MBHOH), and the kids enjoyed their first taste of milkshakes!
Looking forward to Picasa on my computer at home so I can actually fix up some of the darker night shots  and share them with you all!

  1. Hey Katie, Josh & Asher, I have followed the blog and have enjoyed every minute. Good job Katie & Josh. Of course Mr. Asher is just precious!!!. I'm not sure if I am even commenting where you will be able to read but I'm so proud of you two. What a blessing this little man has to come into a family...a loving christian family. What a Christmas Present brought home for the kids. They probably will not fully understand for many years but the timing just seems perfect. It finally happened. YEAH...YEAH. I'm praying for a safe trip home and looking forward to many pic's. Cant wait to hear about the homecoming for Asher and what the other children think of their new brother. BTW...I love the pic I think it is on Dec 15 of the 3 of you. What a great pic. Sending my love, love Aunt Susan
