OK, so that last post was a long and heavy one. This one is much more lighthearted. Just a quick note to say: DTC!!!!
Yes. More acronyms. We've been over this. Before I explain, may I draw your attention to the fact that there is now a tab right under our header picture here entitled "Step-By-Step." It is an explanation of all the steps and acronyms. I blatantly ripped it off from Mara. What can I say? She's just good at explaining things. Also, the lovely Annie Agarwal spiffed up our header for me. It's nice that I have friends who make me look like I know what I'm doing!
So, DTC means "Dossier to China," and it just means that those papers we've been chasing this whole time are now complete, reviewed, translated, bound up all pretty-like, and on their way to be logged in to the CCCWA's system. It's a big step, a big relief, and means that once we are logged in, we will finally be eligible to receive a referral (match file). So...
YAAAAAY for DTC!!!
Also, I want to take a moment to catch you all up on our fundraisers. I've not really updated at all about them. I have no good excuse for not doing so. I mean, I have several reasons, but none of them are good enough, but I'm telling you now.
1. My friend Stephanie is an independent consultant with Arbonne. She very generously offered to host a party and donate the proceeds... her own personal commission... towards our adoption fund. The party was last week. Thus far, I have to admit that the orders that have come in have far exceeded my expectations! So, thanks to all who came and who ordered. We got an extension on the party. So, if you are interested and want to place an order, let me know. We've got just a couple days left.
2. The wonderful Agarwal Family has partnered with us to raise funds... specifically two little Agarwals have. Collin and Griffin have been busy this summer gathering sponsors and reading as many chapter books as they can. All the funds they collect will go to help bring home Little Green #5. You can read all about the Read for the Red Thread project on Annie's blog. The summer is nearing an end, but there's still time to jump on board and sponsor these awesome little guys!
I can't thank these sweet friends enough for their help! I really want you to know that they both volunteered to do these projects and have done all the legwork. I am so grateful that we have this support system of friends who stand with us... and to everyone else who supports us through prayer and encouragement, I have to thank you all too (this is beginning to sound like an awards show or something... um... I'd like to thank the academy?), but really, we are so well loved. So, thanks, friends! And right back at ya!
... and YAAAAAAAAY for DTC!!!
