OK... I'm Calling It: Bai Jia Bei Deadline!

Hey everyone!

So I have nothing to report on the paperwork side of things.  We're just waiting for the documents to go around the loops as they should, and praying for no major delays.  So, in the meantime, my mind is left to wander and think of things we need to prepare and finalize before little man comes home.  One such thing is the Bai Jia Bei.

Anyone who is new to the blog and doesn't know what I'm babbling about, you can read the full back story on Didi's quilt here.

Basically, although I would still love to find some kind of cool fabric from China to tie the whole quilt together, I think the only way he's going to get this thing before he turns 5 is to try to get moving on it at least a little before he's home.  In order to do that, I need to know what we're actually working with.  Several people have told me they want to send fabric but just haven't found the right one yet, or have it but haven't sent it yet.  This is your official friendly "get moving, please" notice.  I am going to call a cut-off date of November 15th for quilt pieces.  So, if you have one to send, or want to contribute, please send it no later than that date.

Once again, what we need for the quilt is this... in the simplest way I can explain it:

1. 1/4 yard (23 cm???) of a fabric of your choice... preferably cotton as it will be washed often.  Something that says something about your family, your relationship to us, or makes you think of Didi.
2. A prayer, blessing, verse, wish, note, etc. to go along with it.
3. A picture of you & your family (can just be emailed to me if you don't get to print it.)

That's it.  I know my lack of succinctness has caused mass confusion in previous posts about what exactly you are sending, but there it is. Very simple, I hope.

I think we have about 20 pieces already, a handful of which I haven't posted pictures of yet, but will soon.  Can't wait to post yours too!  Thanks again!
